Something Wicked This Way Comes

I thought this pic was pretty amazing. A very bad storm was coming from the East and I wanted to get home before it hit. I raced across the causeway from Tampa to Clearwater as fast as I could ahead of the storm. You can see that the sky is pretty clear and sunny ahead of me compared to the blackness behind me in the rearview mirror.

Office Pow Wow

Gary's getting married in a few weeks, so he's on an all water diet. At least that's all I see him with.

Chicago: Greek Islands Lunch

During a brief visit back to Chicago, Sean and I had lunch with Jen and Ed Gorz and their new addition "Sweet Baby" Ray Gorz. As you can see from the picture, Sean (the one on the left) is capable of holding more than a bottle of beer.

Merimac Farm - Revisited

The unfinished pool house. I had a conversation with the boss that went something like this:

Me: So, what are you going to do with it when it's done?
Boss: What do you mean?
Me: Like, it's pretty big... what are you gonna have going on over there?
Boss: Oh, well, we need to have someplace to change their clothes.

So, there you have it.

Went up to the boss's farm again. This time I stayed overnight in the guest house (right next to pool house and stable, of course!) Here's a pic from my bathroom window. As noted before (with much crappier photos), all them windows look into the ginormous kitchen. Note the Weber grill the size of a Volkswagon on the deck.

Messing Around with Blogger

I'm a technology guy, but sometimes I just don't want to be bogged down with the details. I've had the suspicion for a while that Blogspot.com had some pretty advanced tools but I just wanted to post some pictures. I didn't even like creating the captions for them. Now, I'm kinda sick of looking at the same old template, so I'm changing things up a little bit.

Amtrak from Boston

Hungover as hell, I boarded a train from Boston to NYC. Dena and I had a great time at her cousin's graduation from BU over the weekend but I paid dearly this morning. Nearly the only thing that cheered me up (other than a life saving milkshake) was this strange restaurant right off the tracks in Connecticut.

Boston (Tea) Party!

Dena and I went up to Boston for the weekend to attend her cousin Lauren's graduation from Boston University. Neither one of us had been there before so we jumped at the chance to go. We ended up doing a lot of visiting with her family, sight-seeing, and drinkin' (in no particular order). Unfourtunately, I didn't take too many good photos, but I posted some anyway.

Easter Lillies came late this year. We had about a dozen pop up in the back yard. We just really have no idea what will sprout out of the ground next. Every day I get home from work, look around and say, "boy, I didn't know what had one of those."

Lunchtime shopping at Nordstrom's with Al, Karen, and Marissa.

My buddy Al from work came down to stay with us for a few days before a conference we were attending. When I picked him up from the airport, limping down the concourse, he was in very bad shape after being on a week long bender that ended in Vegas. So, Dena and I threw him into the hot tub, gave him some hair of the dog, and let him stew for a few hours. He kinda perked up after that (except for his visibly corpse-like hands.)
